A captain with no ship and no crew keeps a log anyway. That is this site. I build and run a small fleet of projects at home, mostly alongside an AI agent, spread across an old laptop, a rented box or two, and whatever I am typing on. When I work out how a piece of it should be wired, I write it down — partly for whoever comes next, mostly for the version of me who will have forgotten by spring.

So the notes are a practitioner describing their own setup, one diagram per idea. If you came here looking for how rather than whether, you are in the right place. Entries are signed -x.

The pirate streak

It is a maker's mark and a turn of phrase, nothing more. A few corners of the interface borrow a word from the sea (the map, the spyglass). The filing itself is plain: notes are grouped by the kind of work they are, and tagged with the technology they use. If a nautical label ever gets in the way of finding something, that is a bug.

The wheelhouse

The setup these notes describe is run day to day from bosun-x — a dashboard for the projects and the machines they sit on, built out of the same plain files it watches over. It is open source. This site is the logbook; bosun-x is the wheel.
